COLLECTIBLE TURKISH RED CRESCENT (TURKIYE KIZILAY CEMIYETI) DONATION STAMPS
Out of circulation. Printed for the purpose of collecting humanitarian aid by the Turkish Red Crescent (that operates in a similar way to the Red Cross does).
Seven stamps in rainbow colors:
1 red stamp 2.5 kurus printed at Damga Matbaasi
1 brown stamp 2.5 kurus
1 yellow stamp 2.5 kurus printed at Devlet Basimevi
1 green stamp 10 kurus printed at Devlet Basimevi
1 gray stamp 20 kurus printed at Devlet Basimevi
1 purple stamp 50 kurus printed at Damga Matbaasi
1 blue stamp 1 Turkish Lira (old) printed at Damga Matbaasi
(No date is printed on them but judging by the value on them, they may be from 1950's or 1960's)
Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation.
