VINTAGE TURKISH POSTAGE STAMP
Out of circulation. Single stamp
20 kurus stamp printed in 1955 by Yeni Desen Matbaasi (New Design Printing-press) in Ankara. Has a picture of a pink rose on it and "Istanbul" is written on it. Cannot figure out the significance of this.
Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation.
