Out of circulation. Printed for the purpose of collecting humanitarian aid by the Turkish Child Protection Services.
Ten stamps in different designs and color:
1 lilac 20 para (smaller unit of kurus) stamp printed in 1948 at Kagit ve Resim Isleri A.S., Istanbul with a care taker nurse and group of orphan children in front of building draw on it
1 green 20 para stamp printed in 1954 with a care taker nurse and a couple of orphan children drawing on it
1 yellow 20 para stamp printed in 1954 with a care taker nurse and a couple of orphan children drawing on it
1 blue 1 kurus stamp printed in 1954 with a care taker nurse and an orphan child draw on it
1 blue 1 kurus stamp printed in 1957 with two orphans draw on it
Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation. Para is an even smaller denomination of Turkish money 40th of a kurush. Of course that too has been out of circulation for a long time.
