VINTAGE TURKISH POSTAGE STAMP
Out of circulation. Single stamp
105 kurus stamp printed by Yeni Desen Matbaasi (New Design Printingpress) depicting the northern hemisphere of the globe with a banner across it stating North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). there is a white crescent in the sky and white stars (white crescent and star on red background symbolizing the Turkish flag). On the stars it states "Togetherness for Peace". The dates on the left bottom shows that the stamp was printed on the 10th aniversary of the pact (4 April 1949 - 1959).
Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation.
Item Condition: small tear on top left. used item with black ink postmark.
